Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Medicine – Medical Training and Simulation Center (USİM) is a multidisciplinary education, research, and application center equipped with advanced technology. USİM was the first medical simulation center among public universities in Turkey, which integrated into the faculty’s education units and education programs in January 2016. In 2008, the first goal was to improve the conditions of the Professional Skills Laboratories, which were opened in 2000 and managed by Family Medicine. After that, new goals compatible with continuous professional development have been continued to be created and implemented.
The aim of the establishment is not to replace clinical education in 6-year formal medical education, but to provide a technological educational environment where students can develop their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a collaborative manner, allowing them to learn from their mistakes. Currently, our center serves as a national model in providing an environment that encourages the collaborative efforts of Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in education, research, and innovation.
Mission
To improve the quality of pre-graduation education and support postgraduate medical education by prioritizing patient safety with innovative teaching and learning techniques based primarily on student-centered and simulation-based teaching and learning techniques.
Vision
To be a leading and innovative education center in determining the simulation-based education standards in the future as well as today in Turkey, where medical simulation technologies are included in all educational processes in Health Sciences education.
